What we need:

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of seasonal, intermittent Natural Resources Technician 1 within the Division of Wildlife, headquartered at the Delaware Wildlife Area Shooting Range and Education Center, assigned to Delaware County. What you will do…

  • Assist Range Supervisor and other full-time range staff with the daily operation of the Delaware Shooting Range and Education Center (e.g., check range permits, answer general questions from the public concerning the range, enforce range rules, etc.)

  • Perform range maintenance duties (e.g., grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, custodial duties, trash removal, light construction, light carpentry, equipment operation, etc.)

  • May also work on the Delaware Wildlife Area

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Receive an hourly pay of $20.05/hr.

 

Duration...

  • 12 months per year

  • This is a maximum duration, 1000-hour per year intermittent (unclassified) position for the Division of Wildlife

 

Work hours and conditions...

  • Approximately 20 hours per week

  • Must work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and some holidays

  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels

 

Preferred qualifications and special requirements...

  • Ability to complete Range Safety Officer training

  • Experience in basic firearm operation and safe handling

  • Strong communications skills, including written and verbal

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to shoulder height

  • Proven record of being reliable and team-oriented

This intermittent position will remain at step 1 of the pay range. This intermittent position is not eligible for benefits (e.g., vision, dental, life, health insurance, holiday pay, leave accruals [vacation, personal, sick], any other paid leave, shift differential, pay supplements, etc.).
