ABOUT THE POSITION

OAM + i'move is seeking a full-time Interventional Physiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician) to join our established outpatient musculoskeletal practice. This physician will become part of an experienced team consisting of three Physiatrists and two Physiatry APPs, providing collaborative, comprehensive care to patients throughout West Michigan.

This Interventional Physiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal, spine, sports medicine, and neuromuscular conditions using evidence-based, non-operative treatment approaches. The position includes performing fluoroscopic spine injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS) while working collaboratively with orthopaedic surgeons and rehabilitation providers to develop individualized treatment plans that maximize patient function and quality of life.

This is a 100% outpatient position with a Monday through Friday work schedule. Participation in a shared call schedule is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal, spine, sports medicine, and neuromuscular conditions. 
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing conservative and interventional approaches. 
  • Perform fluoroscopic spine injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS). 
  • Collaborate closely with orthopaedic surgeons regarding non-operative treatment and surgical referrals. 
  • Coordinate patient care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, rehabilitation plans, and injury prevention. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices. 
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Skills & Competencies: Excellent clinical judgment with comprehensive knowledge of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation principles, musculoskeletal medicine, spine disorders, sports medicine, and evidence-based treatment practices. Demonstrated proficiency in fluoroscopic spine injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, and electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS). Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary orthopaedic team.
  • Education & Experience: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school required. Completion of an accredited Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program required. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation required. Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain prior to employment) and current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) required. Demonstrated experience performing fluoroscopic spine injections, ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures, and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS) required. Fellowship training in Interventional Spine, Sports Medicine, or Pain Medicine is required and prior experience practicing in an outpatient orthopaedic or multidisciplinary musculoskeletal setting preferred. 
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday and safely perform repetitive clinical and procedural tasks requiring fine motor skills and manual dexterity. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate patients, interpret diagnostic studies, and perform image-guided procedures. Ability to occasionally lift or move equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds and perform the physical demands associated with an active outpatient clinical practice.
