Job Summary/Description:

FOX Carolina (WHNS) in Greenville, SC is looking for a relentless Investigative Reporter who doesn’t just wait for the news to happen—you go out and find the stories that others miss. If you have a passion for holding the powerful accountable and a digital-first mindset that ensures your investigations reach people wherever they are, we want to talk to you. This isn't just about a slot in a newscast; it’s about making a real, measurable impact in the community.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Own the investigation: Dig deep into complex issues, from government accountability to consumer advocacy, and turn them into compelling, multi-platform narratives.
• Contribute daily: Maintain a high-energy pace by providing daily investigative updates, enterprise "quick turns," or digital-first content while working on your long-term deep dives.
• Drive digital engagement: You won't just "post" your stories; you'll build digital-first experiences using interactive elements, social video, and web-exclusive deep dives.
• Cultivate deep roots: Build and maintain a robust network of sources and whistleblowers who trust you to tell the stories that matter.
• Respond with urgency: While you’re a long-form specialist, you’re also a journalist first—ready to jump in with authority when breaking news hits.
• Collaborate for impact: Work closely with our legal team, producers, and digital staff to ensure every investigation is bulletproof and broadly distributed.
• Master the craft: Shoot, write, and edit your own content (yes, you’re a pro with a camera and EDIUS) to maintain total creative control over your vision.
• Maintain the highest standards of integrity and editorial judgment in everything you produce.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A "Self-Starter" spirit: You don't wait for assignments; you come to the table with a notebook full of pitches and the drive to see them through.
• Relentless curiosity: You’re the person who asks "why" and "how" until you get the real answer.
• Digital-first fluency: You understand that a broadcast piece is just one part of a story’s life cycle on social, web, and streaming.
• Technical versatility: You’re comfortable operating gear in the field and editing under pressure without sacrificing quality.
• A deep understanding of media law and a commitment to accuracy that is second to none.
• Urgency and empathy: You know how to handle sensitive subjects with care while never losing the "get it first" spirit.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
• Outstanding Writing Skills & Dynamic Live Presence
• Flexibility: You’re ready to jump in when the big story breaks, whether that means weekends, overnights, or staying through severe weather.
• You believe that news is a team sport and you bring a positive, "can-do" attitude to the newsroom every day.
• A degree in journalism or a related field and a reel that proves you can do it all. Minimum 3 years of reporting experience. (MVR check required).
