📍 Newark, DE

About the Role

Impact Life is seeking a passionate and experienced IOP Counselor to join our Social Prescribing & Primary Care team in Newark, DE. This role is ideal for a strong group facilitator who is committed to supporting individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges through compassionate, person-centered care.

The IOP Counselor will lead Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) groups, provide individual support and care coordination, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated behavioral health services.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate two IOP group sessions per day, three days per week
  • Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-informed group curriculum including CBT, DBT, MI, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed group environment
  • Provide individual check-ins and support client engagement and treatment planning
  • Complete clinical documentation and treatment records in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, and social prescribing teams to coordinate whole-person care
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and program development
  • Support a harm reduction and low-barrier approach to care
  • Assist with intakes, screenings, and interdisciplinary care coordination as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required
  • CADC required
  • Master’s degree and clinical licensure (LPCMH, LCSW, etc.) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of behavioral health experience
  • At least 3 years of substance use/addictions treatment experience
  • Minimum 3 years of group facilitation experience, preferably in an IOP setting
  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
