Job Summary

The IT Analyst — Business Analysis is responsible for analyzing business needs, evaluating technology requirements, and supporting the development and implementation of IT solutions that improve business processes and operational efficiency. This position serves as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure that technology solutions meet organizational requirements and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, workflows, systems, and operational requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Gather, document, and analyze business and technology requirements from stakeholders.

• Conduct interviews, workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering sessions with business users and subject-matter experts.

• Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements for IT teams.

• Develop business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process documentation.

• Analyze current systems and identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for technology improvements.

• Develop current-state and future-state process maps and workflows.

• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, architects, project managers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.

• Evaluate proposed IT solutions and assess their alignment with business requirements.

• Define acceptance criteria and support solution validation.

• Assist with system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, test cases, and expected results.

• Document and track system defects, issues, requirements, and change requests.

• Analyze system and business problems and coordinate with technical teams to identify appropriate solutions.

• Assist with data analysis, data mapping, reporting, and system integration activities.

• Support data migration and data validation activities when required.

• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives when applicable.

• Prepare project documentation, status reports, presentations, and business analysis deliverables.

• Support change management, user training, implementation, and system adoption activities.

• Monitor implemented IT solutions and gather feedback from users to identify additional improvements.

• Maintain accurate system, process, and business documentation.

• Ensure IT solutions align with organizational policies, security requirements, and business standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in IT analysis, business analysis, systems analysis, or a related role.

• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.

• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts.

• Experience working with IT development, implementation, or support teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or other relevant business analysis certification.

• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

• Knowledge of enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, or financial systems.

• Experience with APIs, system integrations, data flows, and application architecture.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence tools.

• Experience supporting digital transformation and technology implementation initiatives.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity, access management, and IT governance.
