Job Description - IT Help Desk Support


Job description



Responsibilities for this position



  • Candidate is responsible for assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable Anchor Coupling success.


Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions.

  • Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components.

  • Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure.

  • Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support. • Set up user accounts for system access, Windows domain, lotus notes, etc. • Maintain server backup for data integrity and data restoration • Maintain file, print, and application servers including CITRIX terminal servers • Set up new users for the PBX/Phone System, account access new numbers • Maintain audix message system, user database, backup and restores. Set up new users. • Position manages the completion of their own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Communication and customer service focus are necessary.   • Ability to listen to others is important to the position. *Will possibly receive phone calls at night.




Typical Day



Working with office and factory workers setting up computers, trouble shooting, setting up software and setting up new users. Will not be sitting at a desk but will move to wherever the need is. If the need arises, may be required to work off shift hours (on a call in basis)



Education Requirement



  • Highschool or GED minimum. IT related degree desired. In lieu of degree, would prefer some sort of certification.


Technical Skills Required



  • 3 years experience required.

  • Microsoft Office required.

  • AutoCAD desired.

  • Familiarity with Mach 1 desired.


Soft Skills Required


•Focus on safety and quality •Strong interpersonal and communication skills •Ability to coordinate multiple efforts at once •Peer leadership •Self-starter/bias for action •Ability to prioritize rapidly and be decisive


Job Types: Full-time, Contract







Requirements




Education/Experience:



  • Computer-related or Engineering-related four year College or University Degree (or equivalent) desired.

  • Three years relevant experience required. Progressively responsible IT job-related experiences.

  • Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools.

  • Ability to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications.
