Janitor

Job Title: Janitor Department: Millwrights

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Job Summary:

The Janitorial Staff will clean and maintain all areas of the company’s facilities.  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in all areas of the facility as assigned.
• Ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are organized and stocked.
• Sweeps, vacuums, waxes, and mops the floors.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
• Empties trash and recycling.
• Washes windows, inside and outside.
• Makes sure the facility is clean and meets all safety requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
• Ability to interact with various employees and visitors while remaining professional, polite, and courteous. 
• Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to keep an organized record of cleaning supply inventory.
• Problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous janitorial experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

Prolonged periods standing.

Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
