Janitor - 3rd Shift

Job Summary

The position of Janitor will be to ensure all areas of the facility remain clean, sanitized, healthy, safe and environmental compliant.  This will include routine cleaning activities daily, weekly and monthly.  Must adhere to all health & safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

• Hours are Monday - Friday from 10:45pm - 6:45am. 


• Hourly Rate is $19.05/hr. 

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, breakrooms, appliances including microwaves, coolers/ refrigerators, coffee pots.


• Clean and sanitize cupboard handles, doorways, door knobs, tables, chairs and all other communicable touch points throughout the facility. 


• Maintain recycling as necessary.


• Sweep and mop daily.


• Operate floor scrubber/cleaner as necessary.


• Empty trash on production floor, office areas and outside.


• Pick up trash in yard and along fences.


• Empty ashtrays.


• Maintain outside picnic tables and picnic areas.


• Maintain stock for PPE including masks, gloves, as well as hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, and cafeteria supplies. 


• Assist Utility and Maintenance when needed.


• Assist our Health and Safety team with training of proper sanitizing practices.


• Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.


• Experience: Experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning and sanitizing practices preferred.


• Knowledge of preventing communicable diseases is desirable.


• Experience in operation of industrial equipment is preferred.


• Must be able and qualified to wear a respirator.


• Ensure that the OSHA and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to. 


• Comply with provisions of the OSHA Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of all employees. 


• Adhere to the IATF16949 requirements.


• Comply with Environmental Programs, including Hazardous Waste and Air Emissions Compliance, as well as the Environmental Management Systems.


• Excellent interpersonal, written communication and proven organizational skills.


• US Driver’s License preferred.

Working Conditions

• The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:


• Manufacturing environment with minimal managerial assignments.  


• Continued exposure to chemicals and hazardous cleaning/sanitizing supplies, robotics, industrial and automotive vehicles, manufacturing equipment, building structures and weather elements.


• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. with limited accommodations and flexible working positions.


• Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.


• Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.


• Must be able to pass and maintain an Industrial Equipment license or licenses.


• Must be able to certify under the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
