Dinosaur Bar-B-Que began in 1983 as a mobile concession unit serving great Bar-B-Que throughout the Northeast.  In 1988, the company opened its first restaurant in Syracuse and has continued to grow to six locations serving delicious Bar-B-Que throughout New York State.  We are currently looking for a Janitor & Maintenance Technician to join our Syracuse team!

HOW YOU FIT INTO DINOSAUR BAR-B-QUE (Job Summary):

The Janitor & Maintenance Technician helps maintain a clean, safe, and fully functional restaurant environment for guests and team members. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning and sanitation, completing basic repairs, and assisting with general upkeep of the building, equipment, and surrounding property.

WHAT YOU DO (Essential Functions)

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of areas throughout the restaurant including dining areas, kitchen, floors, walls, restrooms, storage areas, employee areas and other assigned spaces using proper cleaning products and equipment.


• Perform routine upkeep of outdoor spaces and surrounding property, including litter removal, sweeping, seasonal maintenance and ensuring clean and safe entrances, walkways and parking areas.


• Complete heavy, deep cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.


• Remove trash and other waste and maintain clean waste storage areas.


• Conduct light maintenance tasks including minor repairs of tables, chairs, fixtures and equipment.


• Identify and report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, hazards and property damage requiring additional attention or repair.


• Provide proactive guest service by keeping our building in a clean and orderly condition.

WHAT YOU KNOW (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.


• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management.


• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.


• Ability to identify maintenance or safety concerns.


• Basic knowledge of cleaning, sanitation and facility maintenance.


• Experience performing minor repairs and ability to use basic hand tools.
