ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Follow all Daily’s safety rules, policies, and practices


• Follow all Daily’s sanitation rules, policies, and practices


• Understand and adhere to Chemical Control Program


• Daily inspection and cleaning of all bathrooms


• Clean all offices in the main office area, the HR suite, Maintenance Suite, and both conference rooms by sweeping, mopping or scrubbing


• Inspect and clean both employee lunchrooms


• Clean all employee locker rooms


• Mop, buff and polish all office area floors, hallways and conference rooms and locker rooms


• Other duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED ON THE JOB:

• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures


• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications


• Strict adherence to GHS program

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred. Janitorial or custodial experience preferred.

 COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English or Spanish. Must be able to complete all Master sanitation paperwork in English.

 DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to appropriately respond to higher priority tasks and must be able to proactively communicate with Sanitation Supervisor when unexpected tasks will prevent you from completing other required tasks before the end of the shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extremely cold (lower than 45ºF) and/or extremely hot temperatures (up to 100ºF). 

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally move more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will perform physical activities that require considerable use of their arms and legs and moving employee’s whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. The work required will be 95% indoors with a 5% possibility of being outdoors.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
