ABOUT THE TEAM ð¤
Project SEARCH is a one-year school-to-work transition program designed for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are either in their last year of high school or are recent graduates. â¯Through this program, young adults develop the tools necessary for employment, and skills needed for self-determination, management, and self-advocacy.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: ð
Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, businesses, host sites, workforce partners, community organizations, and hiring managers throughout Maryland and Washington D.C.
Identify employer needs and develop employment opportunities aligned with the strengths, interests, skills, support needs, and ideal conditions of people supported.
Use Supported Employment, Customized Employment, and person-centered practices to support individualized job development and quality job matching.
Maintain an active employer pipeline through informational interviews, business tours, networking events, direct outreach, and relationship-based marketing.
Conduct workplace observations, job analysis, and task analysis to support job matching, accommodations, training strategies, and retention planning
Carry a caseload and assist people-supported with applications, interview preparation, workplace readiness, onboarding, and career planning as assigned
Identify and help implement workplace accommodations, assistive technology, natural supports, fading strategies, and individualized employment supports
Offer intern workshops and individual assistance with resume development, interviewing techniques, and other job preparation activities in coordination with on-site team.
Support Project SEARCH interns, graduates, and post-hires in securing employment, increasing hours, exploring advancement, or pursuing secondary employment opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned
ABOUT YOU ð¥
Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in job development, workforce development, and/or employment support.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Business or related field is strongly preferred
ACRE and/or CESP Certification is strongly desired
Must have a deep understanding of Customized and Supported Employment.
Must possess an excellent performance ethic, strong communication and people skills. Requires valid driver’s license containing no more than two points.
