Job Description - Jr/Int Naval Architect

Job Title:  Jr/Int Naval Architect

On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: Onsite

Location: Columbia Station, OH / Tampa, FL

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: $90K-$115K annually



Responsibilities:

  • Provide support with most areas of Naval Architecture including stability, structural design and analysis, feasibility studies, construction and retrofit specifications, and development of complex marine systems.

  • Ability to work closely with a team of experienced naval architects, marine engineers, electrical engineers and marine designers, both as a team and as an individual.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a relevant engineering field of study.

  • 2.5 - 5 years of relevant work experience; Vessel Owner, shipyard, classification society, engineering consulting.

  • Experience with structural design on Articulated Tug and Barges (ATB), Tankers, and LNG vessels.

  • Project Management experience, position will require project management of small and/or short-term projects

  • Proficiency with FEA Software (e.g. NASTRAN or ANSYS).

  • Proficiency with Stability Software GHS.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel primarily), and AutoCAD.

  • Working Knowledge of marine Regulations, such as USCG, IMO, and Classification Societies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.

  • Short term and short notice travel from time to time.

  • Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License desirable.
