Position Overview
Bengal Crane & Rigging is hiring a junior to mid-level Light Truck Mechanic to support our fleet of GM pickup trucks (1500, 2500, 3500). This role is ideal for someone ready to grow beyond basic maintenance into diagnostics and major repairs.

You'll work primarily on gasoline engines (especially GM 5.3L) and gain hands-on experience with engines, transmissions, and full vehicle systems. This is not just a lube tech role, but also not a heavy diesel-only position.

What You'll Do

• 
  

  Perform maintenance and repairs on GM light-duty trucks

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting (engine, electrical, drivability)

  
  


• 
  

  Support engine and transmission R&R (remove & replace)

  
  


• 
  

  Complete brakes, suspension, steering, and general repairs

  
  


• 
  

  Perform oil changes, inspections, and preventive maintenance

  
  


• 
  

  Use scan tools and basic diagnostic equipment

  
  


• 
  

  Test drive vehicles to verify issues and repairs

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain clean, organized work area and documentation

  
  

What We're Looking For

• 
  

  1–4 years of mechanic experience (auto, light truck, or similar)

  
  


• 
  

  Comfortable performing maintenance and basic repairs independently

  
  


• 
  

  Some diagnostic ability (or willingness to learn quickly)

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with GM trucks or gas engines preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to learn engine and transmission work

  
  


• 
  

  Valid Driver's License (MVR required)

  
  


• 
  

  Must have own tools

  
  


• 
  

  Strong work ethic and reliability

  
  

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  GM 1500/2500/3500 experience
