Role Summary

The Kitchen Director is responsible for leading all Back of House operations while developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers safe, accurate, and exceptional food. This role is more than managing a kitchen—it is about building leaders, improving systems, and creating a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous growth. The Kitchen Director partners with the leadership team to ensure operational excellence, food safety, and an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Back of House team through daily training and accountability.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain top kitchen talent.
  • Ensure all food meets Chick-fil-A standards for quality, presentation, and accuracy.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction.
  • Analyze operational performance and implement process improvements.
  • Create schedules and manage labor to meet business needs.
  • Build future leaders by providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Front of House leadership to create a seamless guest experience.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, urgency, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Work Experience

  • 3+ years of restaurant, hospitality, or food service leadership experience.
  • Experience leading teams of 15 or more employees preferred.
  • Demonstrated success coaching and developing team members.
  • Experience with inventory management, food safety, labor management, and operational systems.
  • Quick-service restaurant experience is preferred but not required.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Proficient with technology and willing to learn restaurant management systems.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
