Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Pay: $145,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Location: Lake Success, NY. This is an on-site opportunity in Nassau County, offering experienced attorneys the chance to work closely with colleagues and clients in a highly collaborative legal environment.

Note: Candidates must have 6+ years of directly relevant labor and employment law experience with substantial employment litigation experience. Active New York Bar admission and experience handling state and federal court matters are essential.

Job Description

• Manage employment litigation from discovery through trial in state and federal courts
• Draft discovery motions, motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, pleadings, and other substantive filings
• Represent employers before the EEOC, NYS DHR, NYCCHR, and other administrative agencies
• Handle employment arbitrations and administrative proceedings
• Advise clients on hiring, employee relations, discipline, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour matters
• Manage agency compliance matters including audits and inspections
• Conduct legal research and provide practical employment law guidance to clients
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, policies, and workplace documents
• Work closely with HR professionals, executives, management teams, and other client stakeholders
• Monitor developments in federal, state, and local employment law and advise clients on emerging risks

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission
• 6+ years of labor and employment law experience
• Strong employment litigation experience in state and federal courts
• Experience before employment agencies such as the EEOC, NYS DHR, or NYCCHR
• Strong knowledge of federal, New York State, and New York City employment laws
• Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple sophisticated matters and deadlines
• Employer-side labor and employment experience strongly preferred
