Join our environmental laboratory team! In this role, you'll prepare and analyze water, oil, and solid samples for contaminants and pollutants. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform required testing of client samples in accordance with Trace's standard operating procedures (SOPs) in an accurate and timely fashion
Maintain precise, complete, legible and concurrent records of analyses completed
Use a laboratory information management system (LIMS) to properly batch samples by analysis and record accurate results
Perform various daily requirements including the following: pipette volume verifications, pH meter calibration, and temperature checks
Preparing and analyzing client samples for pH, flashpoint, solids, density, paint filter, and conductivity
Wear required personal protection equipment (PPE) while in the laboratory
Keep laboratory clean, safe and organized – includes washing laboratory glassware, restocking supplies, ensuring laboratory benches are clean and uncluttered, properly and safely dispose of hazardous waste
Any other analysis or task that the area supervisor deems necessary
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Associate’s degree with science focus or two years of laboratory experience preferred
Ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting sample hold-times and deadlines
Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for 8 hours or more
Dexterity in hands and fingers to carry out daily tasks
Able to lift 60 lbs.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
Occasional evening and weekend overtime may be required to meet sample and/or client due dates
Regular and consistent attendance
Lunch as scheduled per day
Required to work one holiday per year (usually 4-5 hours maximum)
May be asked to cover a weekend shift during planned vacations.
