Resolves quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions and providing feedback to the UL Retail customer, including issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials/handling related issues.
Effectively communicates and reinforces the UL commitment to quality improvement efforts
Assists in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control plans and Measurement system analysis.
Assists in the Development / validation of test and inspection plans designed to assure quality of products based on a review of UL, ANSI, industry trends, and historical performance data.
Supports the Retail Customer in the review and resolution of issues with suppliers, factories, service providers, merchandising, store operations, distribution, safety, customers, and other related supply chain components as required.
Analyzes and interprets assessment, test, and inspection results, determine root cause of failures and non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement and best practices.
Assists in defining, developing and deploying data, analytics and reporting products and services.
Conducts data validation, statistical analyses, and data mapping.
Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Strong ability to assess technical requirements, identify project needs, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of printed circuit boards (PCBs), including datasheet interpretation, pinout analysis, and integrated circuit (IC) functionality.
Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, system integration, and prototype assembly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools; woodworking or fabrication experience is a plus.
Knowledge of mechatronics, automation systems, or electromechanical assemblies preferred but not required.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize system functionality and testing requirements.
