The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the Numu (Northern Paiute), Newe (Western Shoshone), and Washeshu (Washoe). These communities lived in harmony with the land for generations before European contact, following seasonal cycles and forming small, efficient social groups for survival.
Each group's name means "The People" in their own language, reflecting their deep cultural identity and connection to the Earth. They maintained strong traditions, respected neighboring tribes, and engaged in trade throughout the region.
Today, the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony continues to honor these traditions while supporting the well-being, culture, and future of its tribal community.

Apply to bring your laboratory leadership to RSIC's community-centered care.
Your day starts onsite with a quick review of pending tests, staffing coverage, and instrument status before patient flow ramps up. Between check-ins with phlebotomy and bench staff, you spot trends in QC data, resolve workflow snags, and ensure documentation stays current for inspections. As questions come in from providers, you help clarify results and confirm that urgent findings are relayed promptly. Later, you balance the operational side-supplies, vendor follow-ups, and scheduling adjustments-with mentoring moments that strengthen consistency across the team. Some evenings or weekends, you step in to keep continuity when volume or priorities shift.
