Laboratory Supervisor I 340-35

DESCRIPTION:

• Assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of employees.
• Directs all phases of work, quality, service, and costs; and performs tests or assays as required.
• Responsible for reviewing/approval of specialized and problem reports for accuracy. 
• Manages laboratory QC including equipment calibration. 
• Monitors quality of work for compliance to laboratory standards.
• Provides technologist coverage as necessary during peak workloads and staff absences.
• Performs personnel related functions (hiring,firing, discipline, training, etc..)

License/Certification/Education:

• B.S Degree in Medical Technology
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Must meet all State & Local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.
• Hematology experience required. 
• Must be qualified as a Hematology Technical Supervisor as defined by CLIA regulations. 
• Medical Technologist ASCP certified.
