Job Description - Laboratory Technician-Lab

Description

SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm

Pay rate: $18.60/hour

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a microbiology laboratory. Duties usually consist of setting samples for microbial testing; making dilutions of food and environmental samples, setting samples for pathogens testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards.

Determines microbial loads in food and environmental samples.

Sets up, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.

Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards

Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results.

Cleans laboratory equipment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
