Laminating Machine Operator

Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM | 12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days next; every other weekend off)

Job Summary

We are hiring a Laminator Operator I for our manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village. In this role, you will operate laminating equipment and support production processes while ensuring product quality, safety compliance, and adherence to SQF and workplace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor laminating equipment safely and efficiently
• Mix adhesives according to established formulas and verify calculations
• Perform first-piece inspections to ensure product quality standards are met
• Set up and operate production equipment, including lathe machines when required
• Interpret job orders and follow standard operating procedures
• Load materials, change rolls, and manage substrates during production
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment in compliance with SQF standards
• Handle hazardous materials and waste using approved procedures
• Identify, report, and escalate safety, quality, and food safety concerns
• Verify impression rollers and perform adjustments as needed
• Support machine operation during break coverage and production needs
• Participate in audits, safety programs, and continuous improvement activities
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

Qualifications

• 1+ year of machine operator or manufacturing experience preferred (laminator experience a plus)
• Ability to read a ruler or tape measure accurately
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Comfortable working with chemicals, adhesives, and raw materials
• Strong attention to safety, attendance, and quality standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
