GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Land Trust Coordinator (LTC) is responsible for supporting new and existing Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity Land Trust residents in the land trust. The LTC is responsible for the day-to-day stewardship and operation of the land trust, in collaboration with PPHFH staff working to ensure affordable homeownership is possible for El Paso County.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Future Homeowner Education and Program Support
Oversee and ensure the success of the future homeowner program, including but not limited to overseeing the lottery, processing applications, answering questions from the community, and signing the ground lease.
Provide pre-purchase support for future homeowners, including workshops, homeowner orientation, and program requirements.
Cultivate long-term relationships with homeowners in the PPHFH (prospective, future, and current) and be responsive to their needs.
Create and maintain educational workshops and materials for future and current land trust homeowners on requirements and reminders for homeownership.
Oversee billing, collection, and detailed recordkeeping of Ground Lease Fees, account statements, and relevant taxes. Track and work with leaseholders to cure delinquencies and arrears.
Respond to the needs of land trust homeowners and steward PPHFH's existing portfolio of resale-restricted housing.
Act as PPHFH's community liaison for educating the public on Community Land Trusts and PPHFH's mission for affordable housing.
Serve as a backup Qualifying Loan Originator for PPHFH.
Advocate for property tax abatement with the local county assessors.
Create, update, and provide county assessors with annual property tax reports and maximum resale values for properties in the Land Trust.
Board Of Managers Liaison
Serve as the liaison and point of contact for the PPHFH Land Trust Board of Managers, ensuring compliance and communication between them and homeowners.
Attend HOA meetings on behalf of PPHFH.
Recruit members to the Board of Managers as needed from the community, homeowners, and others.
Database Management
Manage the homeowner database and Excel reports to ensure accurate data and information is being collected, reviewed, and shared.
Manage the database for trainings and videos for future and current land trust homeowners.
Community Land Trust Management
Support the PPHFH Land Trust by providing property management and compliance requirements.
Oversee any resale processes for existing Land Trust homes for the restricted resale process.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and plan all home dedications and ground breakings for new homeowners, ensuring detailed event planning occurs.
Work with the Grants and Development team to ensure compliance and reporting for grant monies that the organization incurs.
Participate in statewide and national trainings in the homeownership program management industry (e.g. HFHI trainings or other national programs).
Identify and work with management to develop the homeownership program.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to learn database and technology systems quickly.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including regular public speaking.
Strong problem-solving mentality and sense of initiative
Experience with community organizing & outreach
Familiarity with Community Land Trusts, Property Management, and local property tax law.
Commitment to PPHFH's mission to creating affordable housing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. Areas of study: Public Policy, Non-profit management, or Business Administration preferred. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
4+ years of experience in non-profits, specifically housing and policy management, preferred
2+ years of property management experience, required
