Responsibilities
- Throughout peak season, perform all mosquito control applications. During off-season, apply treatments for turf and plant health care. Identify weeds and diagnose plant diseases and problems
- Accurately calibrate and safely operate equipment ranging from backpack misters to truck-mounted sprayers. Select and mix the appropriate chemicals for each application, reading labels correctly and mixing precise ratios while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Accurately complete all work orders. Utilize our landscape management software to follow the assigned daily schedule of property visits and particular chemical application needs. Read maps and mobile routing devices.
- While on each property, conduct a brief survey to assess the overall health of the landscape. Pull soil samples, as needed. Provide additional applications of materials based on the problem identified.
- Maintain complete and accurate records, including work performed, chemical usage, equipment repair and maintenance, inventory of chemicals and fertilizers, and more
- Regularly service and clean all tools and equipment according to specifications
- Under the guidance of the Plant Health Care Manager, keep all chemicals organized, labeled, and maintained in the designated storage area. Maintain appropriate backstock.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time employment with a licensed pest control company
- Upon hire, immediately begin completing each Alabama Commercial Applicator Certification:
- Household Pest Control - Certified Operator [HPC]
- Public Health Pest Control [PH]
- Ground Equipment Mode of Application [GRD]
- General Studies|Core [GS]
- Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and ability to pass our standard pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Proficiency in English in both oral and written forms
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and to utilize a full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Ability to access and navigate our bulk yard, loading areas, office space, and other aspects of our facilities and job sites
- Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work outdoors, especially during hot and cold weather conditions
