The Director provides leadership and oversight for the daily operation of Victory Montessori. This position is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and welcoming environment for children while leading and supporting childcare staff, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with all applicable State of Colorado childcare licensing requirements.
The Director serves as a knowledgeable, loving, and professional leader who models Victory Church’s values and promotes a positive, collaborative culture among staff, children, and families.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED
Meet and maintain all State of Colorado qualifications for a Large Child Care Center Director and provide documentation of current qualification through Colorado Shines PDIS.
Childcare leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
Successfully complete required fingerprinting and background clearance
Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions
Attend required staff meetings, trainings, conferences, and professional development throughout the year
Demonstrate a positive, patient, friendly, professional, and service-oriented attitude
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality when working with children, families, and employees
Be comfortable using basic computer systems and childcare management software, as applicable
Must agree with and represent Victory Church’s Statement of Faith and follow the handbook
Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development
Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to childcare staff
Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace culture
Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to staff regarding performance, professionalism, and classroom practices
Address staff concerns, conflicts, and performance issues promptly and professionally in partnership with the Operations Director, as appropriate
Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training new employees
Plan and conduct new employee orientation and ongoing staff development
Schedule and conduct classroom and teacher observations and provide constructive feedback
Identify staff training and development needs and coordinate appropriate learning opportunities
Plan and lead scheduled staff meetings and training programs
Program & Classroom Oversight
Ensure classrooms provide a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children
Provide guidance and accountability for daily, weekly, and annual classroom planning
Support teachers in implementing high-quality early childhood practices
Regularly observe classrooms to ensure expectations for safety, supervision, curriculum, and staff-child interactions are consistently met
Participate in program and staff activities and remain actively engaged in the life of the childcare center
Licensing, Compliance & Safety
Administer the childcare center in accordance with applicable State of Colorado childcare licensing rules and regulations (Director license or Level 3 PDIS equivalency)
Maintain ongoing compliance with required child-to-staff ratios, staff qualifications, training requirements, and other licensing standards
Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation required for licensing and center operations
Ensure the center is prepared for licensing visits, inspections, and required reviews
Oversee and reinforce health, safety, sanitation, security, and emergency procedures
Ensure incidents, injuries, and other required events are documented, communicated, and reported appropriately
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, safety concerns, and other unexpected situations
Staffing & Daily Operations
Coordinate employee schedules and classroom coverage to maintain appropriate staffing and required ratios
Anticipate staffing needs and respond effectively to absences and changes in enrollment
Monitor daily operations and proactively identify and resolve problems
Communicate operational needs, concerns, and recommendations to the Operations Director
Balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail
Monitor employee timekeeping, including clock-ins, clock-outs, missed punches, and hours worked; ensure time records are accurate and complete for bi-weekly payroll and address discrepancies in a timely manner.
Children & Family Relationships
Develop positive, trusting relationships with children and families
Maintain open, professional, and timely communication with parents and guardians
Respond appropriately to parent questions, concerns, complaints, and sensitive situations
Partner with families and staff to support the individual needs and well-being of children
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound professional judgment when handling information regarding children, families, and employees
Enrollment & Center Growth
Monitor enrollment, attendance, and classroom capacity
Proactively identify enrollment opportunities and communicate needs or concerns to the appropriate leadership
Help create a welcoming experience for prospective and current families
Support efforts to strengthen family satisfaction and retention
Professional & Ministry Leadership
Model professionalism, integrity, teamwork, compassion, and servant leadership
Promote healthy communication, cooperation, and morale among childcare staff
Work collaboratively with the Operations Director and other Victory Church leadership
Attend and participate in appropriate conferences, trainings, seminars, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
Represent Victory Church and the childcare ministry in a manner consistent with the church’s mission, values, and Statement of Faith

Compensation- $20-$30 Hour. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. (Per Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, employers must include compensation ranges in job postings). This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
