Position: Laundry & Environmental Services Aide

Location: Cascadia Healthcare Facility

Position Overview:
The Laundry & Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This role includes both cleaning resident rooms and facility areas, as well as managing the laundering of resident clothing and facility linens. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to creating a safe, hygienic, and comfortable setting for everyone in the facility.

Essential Functions:

• Laundry Duties: Sorts, washes, dries, folds, and irons linens and resident clothing. Stocks linen closets and carts for nursing units and delivers clean linens and clothing to rooms.
• Environmental Cleaning: Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms, and other areas of the facility to ensure a welcoming and sanitary environment.
• Waste Management: Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers in accordance with safety protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance: Performs routine cleaning of laundry equipment (washing machines, dryers, etc.), including removing detergent build-up and cleaning lint traps.
• Sanitation: Follows infection control techniques and ensures cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained at all times.
• Stocking & Organization: Ensures linens are properly stocked, organized, and returned to laundry areas, maintaining an efficient flow of materials.
• Attendance & Punctuality: Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts to maintain facility cleanliness and hygiene at all times.

Other Functions:

• Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the company’s Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and professional standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
• Strong communication skills with residents, family members, and staff.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques and safe cleaning practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate washing machines, dryers, and other cleaning equipment.
• Ability to remain patient, polite, and attentive to the needs of residents and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Additional Requirements:

• All employees of Cascadia Healthcare must submit and clear state-specific background checks prior to contact with patients or residents.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses/Certification

• None required.

Experience

• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
