Laundry Attendant

The Mindaro / Hyatt House is seeking an experienced, dependable Laundry Attendant to support laundry operations for our two hotel properties. This full-time position is responsible for processing hotel linens, towels, bedding, and other laundry items while maintaining cleanliness, quality, and an efficient workflow.

The ideal candidate is organized, works well independently and with a team, and takes pride in providing clean, properly finished linens for our guests. Previous laundry experience is required. Experience operating a commercial ironer is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  Sort linens by type, fabric, color, and cleaning requirements.

  Operate commercial washers and dryers according to hotel procedures and equipment instructions.

  
  


• 
  

  Operate the commercial ironer after completing required training.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow approved wash formulas, chemical dosing procedures, load capacities, and equipment settings.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep laundry moving efficiently by promptly transferring loads and balancing washing, drying, ironing, and folding tasks.

  
  


• 
  

  Inspect linens for stains, damage, and excessive wear; rewash or remove items from service as appropriate.

  
  


• 
  

  Fold, stack, organize, and distribute clean linens according to hotel standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep clean and soiled linens separated and stored in designated areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor incoming soiled laundry and keep the linen chute collection area clear to prevent excessive buildup.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean, organized laundry room, including work surfaces, carts, floors, and storage areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Clean lint screens and perform assigned routine equipment care according to training.

  
  


• 
  

  Report equipment problems, linen shortages, damaged items, and safety concerns promptly.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with linen inventory counts and help minimize linen loss and unnecessary waste.

  Communicate priorities and unfinished work clearly during shift handoffs.

  Coordinate with housekeeping staff to meet the daily needs of both properties.

  Follow hotel safety procedures, chemical handling instructions, and required personal protective equipment practices.

  Assist with other housekeeping duties as assigned and within training.

  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  

  Previous professional laundry experience, preferably in a hotel or another high-volume commercial setting.

  Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely and follow established procedures.

  Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

Preferred Qualifications

  Experience operating a commercial flatwork ironer.

  Experience processing hotel sheets, pillowcases, towels, and other hospitality linens.

  Familiarity with stain treatment, linen inspection, and inventory procedures.

  
  

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a full-time position. Availability to work weekends and holidays is required. Scheduled hours may vary based on occupancy and operational needs.

Work takes place in a commercial laundry environment with heat, humidity, equipment noise, and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Requirements

The position involves prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling; repetitive folding and handling of linens; moving laundry carts; and lifting and carrying laundry loads. Essential duties must be performed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
