Are you an experienced customer service, retail, counter sales, parts, warehouse, or distribution professional looking for a stable full-time position with more responsibility?

Seacoast Distributors is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Lead Counter Person to join our Lindenhurst team.

You do not need marine industry experience. We provide paid training on our products, parts, systems, and procedures.

This could be a great fit if you have experience in customer service, retail, auto parts, hardware, counter sales, wholesale distribution, warehouse operations, inventory, or order entry and enjoy helping customers solve problems.

What You'll Do

You'll be a key member of our counter team, helping customers in person and over the phone while keeping daily counter operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

• Help walk-in customers and customers picking up orders


• Answer incoming customer calls and assist with product and parts questions


• Help customers identify the parts and products they need


• Enter customer orders into our computer system


• Prepare invoices and quotes


• Process returns and order adjustments


• Track and follow up on open customer orders


• Communicate order and product information to customers


• Open and close the counter each day


• Open and close the building on Saturdays


• Secure cash and checks from the day's receipts at closing


• Assist with counter and warehouse operations as needed


• Work closely with other team members and departments

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, responsible, comfortable working with customers, and willing to learn.

Previous experience in one or more of these areas is helpful:

• Customer service


• Retail or counter sales


• Auto parts, hardware, plumbing, HVAC, marine, or other parts-related environments


• Warehouse or distribution


• Inventory


• Order entry

Marine experience is NOT required.

You should also have:

• High school diploma or GED


• Strong customer service and communication skills


• Basic computer and data-entry skills


• Ability to learn product and parts information


• Good attention to detail


• Ability to work accurately in a busy environment


• Dependable attendance and a team-oriented attitude

Schedule

Typical peak-season schedule:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

Schedule and work hours may vary based on seasonal and business needs.

Physical Requirements

This position includes both counter and warehouse support. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for portions of the workday


• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds


• Perform the physical duties associated with counter and warehouse operations
