Job Description - Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer

Eaton\u2019s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer. Relocation offered.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton\u2019s Embedded Electronics \u0026 PCB Design CoE is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to drive the design and development of embedded electronics for low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers and advanced switching solutions. Reporting to the Embedded Electronics CoE Engineering Manager, you will be part of our Advanced Technology team, leading the development, and validation of embedded electronic platforms that power next-generation protection systems. \n\nAs a Lead Hardware Engineer, you will: \n\u2022 Responsible to execute full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification \u0026 validation, qualification \u0026 certification for electronics-based products \n\u2022 Design hardware including: \n\\- Driver circuits \n\\- Protection \u0026 sensing circuits \n\\- Communication interfaces \n\\- Human-machine interfaces \n\u2022 Translate product requirements into robust technical specifications in collaboration with marketing and applications teams \n\u2022 Execute hardware design, validation, and qualification testing \n\u2022 Partner with controls teams to develop and validate fault management algorithms using HIL platforms \n\u2022 Own detailed development planning, requirements traceability, and issue tracking \n\u2022 Conduct and participate in formal design and quality reviews \n\u2022 Collaborate with Corporate R\u0026D, Electrical \u0026 Industrial Sector CoEs, and external innovation partners\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n-Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution \n-Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design and systems \n-Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications \n-Experience in solid-state or hybrid circuit breaker control systems \n-Proficiency layout tools: Altium, Alegro (Cadence) \n-Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee/Matter) \n-Familiarity with project tracking tools (Jira, JAMA) \n-Experience transitioning designs into production environments\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Proven ability to lead through influence, build technical competency across teams, and drive product development for commercial viability. \n\u2022 Experience working in multi-disciplinary development teams \n\u2022 Strong technical documentation and communication skills \n\u2022 Strong analytical skills covering multiple areas of engineering (electrical design, test, simulation, industrialization) \n\u2022 Ability to interact with business, technology leaders, customer \u0026 suppliers\n\n#LI-ML1 \n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
