The Lead Housekeeper position is part of the Environmental Services/Housekeeping Department and is a full-time role on second shift working approximately 80 hours per two week pay period. This position provides hands-on cleaning support while serving as a resource and lead for housekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service throughout the facility. The Lead Housekeeper supports daily operations, assists with staff coordination, and helps ensure departmental goals and infection prevention standards are consistently met.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience required; healthcare setting preferred

  • Prior lead, supervisory, or shift-lead experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemicals, and infection prevention standards

  • Ability to lead by example and provide guidance to team members

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on departmental priorities

  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a strong customer service focus

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and detailed cleaning of patient rooms, offices, and common areas in accordance with department policies

  • Serve as the on-shift lead for second shift housekeeping staff, providing direction and support as needed

  • Assign daily tasks and assist with workflow coordination to ensure coverage and efficiency

  • Monitor cleaning quality and compliance with infection prevention and safety standards

  • Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding of new housekeeping staff

  • Act as a point of contact for housekeeping-related concerns during assigned shift

  • Communicate issues, supply needs, and operational updates to housekeeping leadership

  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies

  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations
