As the Lead Lifeguard, you are responsible for overseeing daily lifeguard operations and supporting a safe, professional, and guest-focused environment at the pool. You lead by example to enforce safety protocols, coach team members, and maintain water safety standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a positive guest experience and supporting the Pool Management team through coordination, accountability, and leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversee the lifeguard team during assigned shifts to ensure vigilance, proper zone coverage, and adherence to established safety protocols
- Monitor water and deck safety through active scanning, timely response to incidents, and clear communication with guests and team members
- Assist with assigning posts, and providing breaks to ensure continuous and compliant coverage
- Conduct opening and closing inspections of the pool area, ensuring equipment readiness, water clarity, and cleanliness meet all standards
- Support the training and onboarding of new lifeguards, including coaching on rescue techniques, guest interactions, and daily expectations
- Respond to aquatic emergencies and medical incidents using appropriate rescue techniques; assist with incident reports accurately and thoroughly
- Reinforce guest service standards by modeling professional, courteous, and helpful behavior at all times
- Monitor lifeguard performance and provide real-time coaching or feedback to maintain high operational standards
- Ensure accurate documentation of rotations, certifications, and safety checklists; report staffing or safety concerns to management promptly
- Maintain certifications and assist in facilitating drills or ongoing in-service trainings
- Assist with general pool operations, including water testing, enforcing rules, and maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience as a lifeguard in a high-traffic pool or aquatic facility required; prior leadership or lead lifeguard experience strongly preferred
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid (American Red Cross or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of water safety practices, emergency response protocols, and rescue procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead peers by example
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize hazards and respond quickly
Requirements
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana
- At least 16 years ofage
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., rescue equipment, signage)
- Regularly swim, dive, and tread water during surveillance or rescue drills
- Frequently climb in and out of pools and stand for extended periods while scanning designated zones
- Regularly squat, kneel, bend, and twist during rescues or first-aid response
- Ability to visually observe and distinguish objects, shades of color, movement, and guests in and around the water from various distances.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and via two-way radio in high-noise outdoor environments
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and conditions, including prolonged sun exposure and wet/slippery surfaces
