Oversees the Radiology activities within the department. Uses effective leadership, judgment and problem solving skills in a teamwork environment. Maintains a high level of expertise in the use of all equipment in the area. Ensures the production of high quality images that meet the standards established by the Mayo Radiology Department. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff and patients. In addition to these duties, the Lead Radiologic Technologist provides leadership, builds commitment, educates and trains personnel in the work area and generates feedback. May be required to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.

A nuclear medicine technologist must be a graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nuclear medicine technology program (as recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)).
