Schedule: Full-Time / Days or Nights / Monday-Wednesday or Thursday-Saturday / 12 hour shifts, 6:00AM - 6:00PM or 6:00PM - 6:00AM; schedule based on operational needs. 

Pay: $24.00/hour

Job Description:

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking an experienced Lead Operator to oversee the safe and efficient operation of production and mobile equipment at a local wood-processing facility. This working-lead position will supervise approximately three employees while assisting with production, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and site operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on a computer for extended periods, using Excel spreadsheets, and monitoring data from multiple pieces of equipment. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate production and heavy equipment


• Complete daily equipment inspections, cleaning, and routine maintenance


• Troubleshoot and assist with equipment repairs


• Supervise, train, and provide direction to approximately three employees


• Provide breaks for other operators as needed


• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and site cleanup


• Complete production, downtime, and operator logs


• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental requirements


• Participate in safety meetings and inspections


• Communicate production and equipment needs to management


• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required


• 3–5 years of experience in a wood production or manufacturing facility preferred


• Experience operating manufacturing equipment and computerized control systems


• Must be comfortable working with computer systems, monitoring equipment data, and using Excel spreadsheets


• Knowledge of forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment


• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills


• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment


• Strong attention to safety and detail


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around dust


• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds repeatedly


• Must be willing to work overtime as needed


• No visa sponsorship is available for this position
