Learning Assistant

What We Are Looking For

This position provides support within academic support services at Baylor University, and is responsible for:

•    Teaching study skills, organizational skills, and reviewing class materials
•    Supporting students with transitional skills related to academics
•    Supplementing course instruction to assist with mastering content, navigating assignments, and preparing for assessments.

The ability to interact with a range of constituents including student-athletes and Athletics staff. The ideal candidate should have prior teaching and/or tutoring experience.

A Bachelor's Degree and a Christian faith are required. A Master's Degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience are preferred.

All applicants must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

•    Commit to the full semester and final exam week.
•    Abide by all SACE study hall policies
•    Attend all SACE trainings and meetings
•    Maintain academic integrity and abide by NCAA regulations in all sessions
•    Develop and maintain strong rapport with SACE by communicating in email and in person about student athletes’ academic progress
•    Comply with all NCAA and Baylor policies
•    Assist students in a designated academic subject or discipline as needed
•    Foster educational growth and development; identify educational needs and provide assistance as necessary
•    Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
•    Provide information and excellent customer service to constituents
•    Maintain a safe and supportive environment
•    Comply with University policies
•    Monitor Study Hall
•    Maintain regular and punctual attendance 
•    Other administrative duties as assigned
