The Legal Coordinator supports the medico-legal department by coordinating legal workflows, managing physician involvement in independent medical exams (IMEs) and medical record reviews (MRRs), and ensuring timely, accurate handling of all case-related activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage incoming medico-legal cases, primarily IMEs and MRRs
Conduct and document conflict checks to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements
Schedule and manage physician calendars for legal work, including IMEs, MRRs, depositions, and trial testimony
Collect and track required case documentation, including purpose letters from attorneys or paralegals
Track and manage medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation for each case
Monitor case progression to ensure all required materials are received, reviewed, and completed within deadlines
Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, and trial appearances as needed
Track payments, billing, and case status to support accurate financial and operational reporting
Serve as a liaison between attorneys, paralegals, physicians, and internal teams
Maintain organized and accurate records of all medico-legal cases and related activities
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations
