Licensed Clinical Therapist - Cana Counseling

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Under general direction from the director or clinical supervisor, provides outpatient psychotherapy and counseling services to Cana Counseling clients and other collaborations as necessary.

Accountabilities

•  Assigned productivity standards are met.
• Interviews clients to assess emotional, social, and educational needs. Completes and 
  records intake assessments, social histories, mental status exams, suicide and other risk 
  assessments, progress notes, and other related information according to agency policies. 
• Provides accurate diagnoses, develops treatment plans with clients to assist clients in 
  meeting their goals. Treatment plan updates are due every 90 days or in response to 
  client sentinel events.
• Provides appropriate referrals for clients to other agencies or services as needed.
• Conducts individual, couple, family, and/or group therapy sessions. Provides a strengths-based approach to client problems and concerns. Confers with outside providers with 
  proper authorization to support client progress where appropriate.
• Promotes services and maintains professional contacts with other area providers/agencies. 
  Represents Cana Counseling to interested groups through discussions or seminars on 
  psychoeducational topics.
• Participates in clinical supervision per licensure, administrative supervision, peer review, 
  and case record review according to agency policies to ensure quality care of clients and 
  compliance with case records.
• Works effectively with the Director to actively seek out promotional opportunities for 
  Cana Counseling and for staff clinical expertise.
• Demonstrates an understanding of, and support for, the mission of Catholic Charities and 
  acts as a representative of Catholic Charities in this role.
• Performs other related assigned duties.

Requirements

• Education
  • Clinical master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, social work, or other related field.
• Certification, Recertification, Registration, or License
  • Current State of Kansas license to practice psychotherapy through the Behavioral Sciences and Regulatory Board of Kansas. 
  Experience
  • Proficient use of current DSM edition. Must have Clinical Training Plan and Post-graduate supervision if not licensed to practice independently in the State of KS. 
    Practicing Catholic preferred but not required. 
• Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use a personal computer via mouse and keyboard with familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products. Employee must be willing to become proficient in use of Electronic Health Record. Willing to participate in ongoing training and licensure renewal to maintain position. 
• Exposures
  • Controlled inside work environment with noise/vibrations from general office equipment.
  • Minimal exposure to fumes/dust/odors. 
  • Requires extensive, daily work using a computer. 

• Work Type: Light, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Climbing/Balancing/Freedom to Move: May be assigned to multilevel building with some floors accessible by stairs only. Minimal required to move about office. Sit about 75 percent of time.

• Reaching: Occasional, overhead as well as horizontal and down.
• Vision: Adequate to perform essential functions.
• Color vision: No particular color vision requirement.
• Hearing: Frequently perceive nature of sounds by ear.
• Speech: Frequently express ideas by means of spoken words.
• Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination: Frequently operates equipment requiring moderate ability.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequently operates equipment requiring moderate ability.
