Licensed Practical Nurse (Lpn/Lvn)

Description

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN/LVN) 

Responsibilities:  

• Provide compassionate, quality care to employees.
• Provide direct first aid care to employees at the site according to the medical directives within the scope of practice and State and National regulations.
• Adhere to health management policies, protocol, medical directives, and physician standing orders according to the scope of the practice.
• Adhere to state and federal regulations including OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, etc.
• Adhere to HIPPA compliance of confidentiality of employee’s personal medical information
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with departmental staff, complex management, supervisory staff, and local health care providers.
• Must be able to carry, lift and maneuver first aid response bag (weighing between 25-30 lbs), back board, stretcher, AED, wheel chair, and any other medical necessities when responding to an incident.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist in departmental medical record upkeep
• Provide appropriate documentation of all care provided in a professional and effective manner.
• Perform Drug and Alcohol screening for Powered Industrial Truck operators, as requested.
• Conduct annual hearing testing for facility employees.
• Assist in conducting daily restrictive duty checks.
• Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Notify Occupational Health Manager and designee of any pertinent physical and emotional changes of symptoms presented.
• Must be flexible with work schedule.
• Assist in the training of new employees, production, and maintenance at all levels in compliance programs.
• Help to perform job duties within the Safety and Occupational Health department as needed.
• Assist in projects as needed within the department.  
• Other duties as assigned   

Qualifications:  

• High School Degree / GED equivalency required
• Associates Degree of Nursing or Diploma Nursing Degree Required
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Bilingual preferred, but not required
• Basic computer skills
• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Current LVN/LPN license in the state of application 
• Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
