We are a 24/7, AAHA-accredited emergency hospital in Apple Valley, MN, and we’re growing our team! We’re looking for credentialed veterinary technicians who are passionate about patient care, teamwork, and continuing to grow their skills in emergency medicine.

PRACTICE AT THE TOP OF YOUR LICENSE

At South Metro, technicians are trusted with meaningful responsibility and have a real voice in patient care and hospital flow. You’ll work closely with our DVMs and play an important role in patient care, client communication, and keeping the hospital moving.

Our typical cases include:

• Toxins


• Foreign bodies


• Urinary obstructions


• Respiratory emergencies


• Trauma


• Surgical emergencies


• Hospitalized and critical patients

Your day-to-day may include:

• Performing initial triage and collaborating directly with DVMs


• Reviewing treatment plans with clients and answering questions with empathy and confidence


• Placing IV catheters, NG tubes, central lines, and PICC lines


• Applying splints and bandages


• Running and monitoring anesthesia for surgical procedures


• Overseeing and performing treatments for hospitalized patients


• Monitoring and advocating for patients throughout their stay


• Mentoring and supporting teammates

YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DO IT ALL YOURSELF

Emergency medicine is challenging enough without being understaffed.

Our staffing model is designed to give technicians the support they need to provide excellent patient care. We typically have 2 CVT/LVTs and 2 veterinary assistants per doctor, so you have a strong team around you and aren’t constantly stretched beyond your limits.

COMPETITIVE PAY + BENEFITS

$24–$32/hour, based on experience

+$6/hour overnight shift differential (8 PM–8 AM)

+$2/hour weekend shift differential
