Lifeguard Team Member

As a lifeguard, you will use your certified knowledge to ensure a safe day of swimming for our guests. You will enforce park policies and utilize your training when scanning pools for distressed swimmers and dispatching sliders. Through the course of your shift you will be rotated through several water attractions and will be responsible for knowing and communicating all specific rules to our guests. Expect high exposure to sun and heat, as well as to wear your swimwear uniform for each shift.

Main Responsibilities and Duties of a Fun-Plex Lifeguard:

• Complete a lifeguard certification course: Fun-Plex only accepts Starguard Certification, which is provided to selected candidates. Certification requires a $125 deposit (payment plan available, ask about options), 6-8 hours of online pre-work, plus two days of in-person safety training. Upon successful completion of training and testing, you will be Starguard Certified. Starguard certification can be renewed yearly for $75. Lifeguard certification fees are fully refundable for employees who remain employed until the end of the season.
• Scan pools to assure swimmers are safe and rules are being enforced
• Dispatch swimmers from slides and assist in exiting attractions
• Be knowledgeable and comfortable providing minor first aid
• Be comfortable and capable of providing emergency medical care and life saving measures until EMS arrives
• Enforce rules in a strict, yet professional and friendly manner
• Attend scheduled training in-services
• Perform various tasks each day to keep your work area and the park clean & safe
• All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
