Job Description:

• Assists the Senior Manager, Data Center Operations (DCO) to provide technical leadership for Data Center Operations personnel.

• Performs high-level system analysis and assists management in setting technical strategy for accomplishing new objectives.

• Maintains knowledge of current systems and solutions, and provides analysis and recommendations for overcoming obstacles.

• Functions as a high-level individual contributor in multiple technical areas including servers, storage, networking, and software.

• Utilizes expertise in business management practices, industry requirements and information technology disciplines to develop technical and/or business solutions to enhance C Spire’s cloud solutions.

• Minimum of ten years of Information Technology experience required in a production or equivalent environment.

• Proven in-depth knowledge of multiple versions at least two of the following is required: UNIX, Linux, Windows, or Cisco operating systems.

• Proven ability to scope, design, install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot physical and virtual environments.

• Proven ability to install hardware and software, and write/debug scripts, i.e., Perl, PHP, Python, Power Shell, etc. In-depth knowledge of advanced security, networking, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.

• Possess sufficient knowledge and experience to assist management in setting infrastructure hardware and software systems strategy.

• Multiple years of experience as a technical lead with enterprise-class infrastructure systems expected, including working with systems and/or storage virtualization technologies.

• Technical lead experience should also include supervising and mentoring junior staff and functioning as an interface with other IT and business units. Cisco, Linux, UNIX or Microsoft certifications expected.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
