Job Description
- Manage a diverse litigation caseload from initial evaluation through resolution.
- Develop case strategy and work closely with senior attorneys on complex matters.
- Draft and argue dispositive, discovery, and other substantive motions.
- Conduct legal research and apply statutes, regulations, and case law to complex fact patterns.
- Take and defend depositions involving parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Prepare witnesses and participate in hearings, conferences, settlement negotiations, and trials.
- Evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and overall case risk.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery, correspondence, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Handle matters independently while contributing to a collaborative litigation team.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, professional judgment, and high ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Massachusetts bar admission in good standing required.
- 2+ years of hands-on insurance defense litigation experience.
- Strong civil litigation background with experience in personal injury, professional liability, business, insurance, or related matters.
- Demonstrated experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
- Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and case-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, insurers, experts, and colleagues.
- Admission to Rhode Island, New Hampshire, or Connecticut bar is a plus.
