Location
This is an on-site position in Poughkeepsie, New York, offering the opportunity to work closely with an experienced litigation team in a collaborative, professional environment.
Note:
Candidates must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have at least 1 year of construction litigation and/or medical malpractice litigation experience. We are specifically seeking an attorney with directly relevant experience who can step in and contribute quickly.

Job Description
- Manage construction litigation and/or medical malpractice matters through multiple phases of the litigation process.
- Handle commercial and civil litigation matters from initial claim assessment through trial or resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, conferences, and trials.
- Analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, business-oriented advice to clients.
- Develop litigation strategies that align with client objectives and case-specific goals.
- Manage discovery, document production, expert involvement, and critical case deadlines.
- Collaborate directly with clients, attorneys, experts, outside counsel, and internal legal teams.
- Maintain meticulous case documentation while effectively managing multiple active matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active New York State Bar admission.
- 1+ year of construction litigation and/or medical malpractice litigation experience.
- Ability to step into active matters and contribute with limited ramp-up time.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience with pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, and litigation case management.
- Strong advocacy, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
