Litigation Legal Assistant - Business and Commercial Litigation


 


Bell Nunnally, a highly respected business law firm with a record of success spanning over four decades, is seeking a litigation legal assistant with experience supporting attorneys with business and commercial litigation practices for its office in the Arts District of downtown Dallas. 



Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, legal documents and organizing files; assisting assigned attorneys with preparing for meetings, hearings and trials; scheduling and calendaring; and assisting with monthly client billing and preparing expense reports. We seek someone with a “team player” mindset with an interest and ability in applying critical thinking skills and who takes initiative and ownership in the team effort.  



The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications: 



  • A general working knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and e-filing in state and federal courts in Texas; federal and state appellate experience helpful but not required.

  • Ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy in a high-volume and deadline driven environment.

  • Accurate typing of 80+ wpm and excellent computer skills, including scanning and electronic filing of documents.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a productive self-starter who can anticipate needs, identify problems, find solutions, meet deadlines, and does not need heavy supervision.

  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.

  • Regular and consistent attendance and the ability to work a regular 8-hour work schedule (plus 1-hour unpaid lunch break) are required.

  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat proficiently is essential.

  • Excellent spelling and proofreading skills and experience working with a document management system, i.e. iManage, preferred.
