Litigation Legal Assistant (366/o)

South Florida community association firm is expanding and looking to add a Litigation Legal Assistant with 2-3 years of law firm experience to their team, experience in Condominium and Homeowners Association law is a plus. The firm is a progressive and constantly growing enterprise which utilizes the technological advancements available to the legal profession and is dedicated to providing the best possible representation for its Association clients.

If you are a tech savvy, hardworking litigation legal assistant with experience in general liability law and/or experience in condominium and homeowners association law or would like to gain experience in these areas this could be the opportunity for you.  This position is full-time, onsite at the firm’s Miami Lakes, FL office.

Duties:

• Assist lawyers and paralegals on day-to-day tasks relating to litigation


• Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials and conferences


• Administrative duties to include, but are not limited to, coordinating meetings, scheduling, answering and directing telephone calls, maintaining and organizing electronic case files, and updating files with case status and information


• Scheduling of hearings, pre-depositions, depositions, mediations, conferences, and other events using a variety of ancillary systems and programs is required


• Compiling and organizing documents, preparing binders and/or folders.


• Gathering and organizing records, documents and other materials


• Scheduling and Calendaring

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2-3 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant in a law firm setting; experience in Condominium and Homeowners Association law is a plus


• Familiarity with legal procedures & terminology


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure


• Experience with electronic filing in state and federal courts and calendaring


• Knowledge of the litigation process


• Knowledge of court procedures including, but not limited to Florida E-Filing (ECF)


• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office software, excellent typing and organizational skills


• Ability to work independently


• Case Management and Document management using Anva, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe. E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System


• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and staying calm under pressure of multiple deadlines is essential. The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills, good common sense, and excellent problem-solving skills.


• Ideal candidate must be detail oriented, work well under pressure, and have a good attendance record
