Job Description
- Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and post-trial proceedings.
- Manage active litigation files and maintain accurate electronic and physical case records.
- Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, organization, retrieval, and production.
- Draft, proofread, and prepare pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Prepare deposition summaries, analyze transcripts, and organize exhibits and supporting materials.
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness files, exhibits, trial binders, and courtroom materials.
- Conduct factual and legal research using legal research platforms and databases.
- Track litigation deadlines, court schedules, discovery obligations, and case milestones.
- Coordinate professionally with clients, experts, courts, opposing counsel, and outside vendors.
- Assist with conflict checks, matter records, billing, expenses, and case administration.
- Support attorneys with additional litigation and trial-related projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation experience required.
- 2+ years of banking, business, or corporate legal support experience required.
- 5+ years of litigation experience strongly preferred.
- Defense litigation experience preferred.
- Experience with personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, professional liability, insurance defense, or bad faith litigation is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of discovery procedures, court processes, litigation deadlines, and trial preparation.
- Strong drafting, proofreading, organizational, analytical, and case-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation support technology.
- Experience with iManage, SharePoint, OneDrive, LexisNexis, Westlaw, docketing systems, or similar platforms preferred.
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with professionalism, accuracy, and sound judgment.
