Fishman, Larsen, & Callister, an established law firm in Northeast Fresno, is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to its employment law and litigation practice. This full-time position plays an integral role in the daily coordination of legal matters, supporting attorneys through document preparation, deadline tracking, calendar management, and client communication. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation support experience, careful attention to detail, and the initiative to anticipate needs and follow assignments through to completion.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage attorney calendars, litigation dockets, and appointments, accurately track deadlines and communicate upcoming obligations.
Coordinate meetings, court appearances, and other case-related appointments, confirming scheduling details and preparing supporting materials.
Prepare, format, edit, and proofread correspondence, memoranda, reports, and legal documents for attorney review.
Assemble and organize documents for court and other legal proceedings, checking for completeness, accuracy, and required supporting materials.
Incorporate attorney revisions and prepare final documents within established deadlines.
Maintain organized electronic and physical case files so correspondence, documents, and case information are readily accessible.
Track document requests and outstanding information, following up with clients and other contacts as directed by attorneys.
Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, responding to administrative inquiries and routing legal questions to the appropriate attorney.
Keep attorneys informed of scheduling changes, missing information, and other issues that may affect timely completion of assignments.
Handle sensitive client and firm information with discretion and maintain confidentiality in all communications and records.
Qualifications
Strong document preparation and proofreading skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional approach to client service.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assignments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, colleagues, and outside contacts.
Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential client and firm information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. (Experience with ProLaw, Tabs, and PracticeMaster preferred.)
Position offers a competitive salary between $28 - $32 per hour with generous benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, PTO, Paid Sick Time, and 401(k)
