Livestock Manager

We're seeking an experienced livestock professional to manage day to day operations for a Texas cattle operation, including a registered breeding herd, pasture care, and general ranch equipment work.

This role requires someone who is highly independent, hands on, and proactive, someone who takes initiative without waiting for direction. Hours vary seasonally, with a genuine opportunity to grow into a larger role over time for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Manage herd health and recordkeeping, including registry filings for the breeding herd.
• Market and sell animals to other ranchers and breeders.
• Manage pastures and forage, including grazing rotation and general upkeep.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on ranch equipment, including tractors and related machinery.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a cattle herd, ideally within a registered or seedstock breeding operation.
• Demonstrated success marketing and selling livestock to ranchers and breeders.
• Strong, hands on animal health knowledge.
• Comfortable and safe operating tractors and other ranch machinery.
• Self starter who works well independently with minimal oversight.
