Job Title: Locum Physician - Gastroenterology

Facility Overview

Join a dedicated team at a Level II trauma center providing 100% inpatient care to an adult and geriatric patient population in Jackson, Michigan. This practice seeks to enhance its services by adding an additional Gastroenterologist to cover for one week per month for a minimum of six months, with the potential for extension. Patients benefit from a supportive inpatient environment, utilizing the Epic EMR system for efficient patient management.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care and coverage for gastroenterology patients.


• Manage an average daily volume of approximately 8 follow-up patients and 6–8 new consults.


• Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including in-house support during specified shifts.


• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient care.


• Maintain clear and thorough documentation using the Epic EMR system.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (REQUIRED)


• Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship (REQUIRED)


• ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association (REQUIRED)


• Ability to perform advanced GI procedures, including colonoscopy and EGD (REQUIRED)


• Preferred familiarity with the Epic EMR system


• Clean malpractice and license history with no exceptions (REQUIRED)

Licenses and Certifications

Required:

• Michigan medical license at the time of name clearance


• ACLS and BLS certifications
