Job Title: Locum Physician - General Medicine

Join a compassionate practice dedicated to serving our nation's veterans! We are seeking General Medicine Providers for Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in Houston, LA. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential services to veterans in your community.

As a Locum Physican, you will have the flexibility to work either from a VES facility or your own office, provided it is within 50 miles of the assigned city. The role requires performing interviews and some physical assessments, focusing on the well-being of those who have served our country.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.


• Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.


• Complete required documentation efficiently, including reports and addendums.


• Maintain ethical standards with no prescribing or treatment involved.


• Collaborate with a team to ensure timely and accurate assessments are provided.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.


• Proficient in METs testing, and evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.


• Strong communication skills with a commitment to veteran care.


• Experience in compensation and pension exams is a plus.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted medical license in Louisiana.


• AANP Certification (required).


• Willingness to complete DMA training to become DMA certified.


• Own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
