Hammond Lumber Company, voted 2025's Best Places to work in Maine, is seeking an experienced log scaler for our Belgrade, Maine location.

Log Scaler Job Responsibilities

• Log scaler responsibilities include but are not limited to scaling, running a de-barker and trim saw, and unloading and stacking material
• Sawmill employees are scheduled to work Monday through Thursday 6am-4:30pm and Friday 6am- Noon. No weekends!!

• A Valid Maine Log Scaler License is preferred
• Previous log scaling experience is preferred
• Experience working in a sawmill or lumber manufacturing environment is a plus
• Forklift experience preferred
• Requires heavy lifting
