Logistics Agent

Material Control Systems, Inc. (DBA ConTrol) is hiring for an additional role on our Logistics team!

Summary/objective 

The Logistics Agent is responsible for location trailer flow. This position is accountable for details with truck placement and coordination with client for efficient processing. Full understanding of shipment detail is required. This position will be responsible for a backfill in the Yard Coordinator role.

•   Accountable for timely responses and communication with supervisors to coordinate teams for efficient work.


•   Ability to maintain open, two-way, communications with all contacts (company officers, corporate, and customers) especially as it relates to trailer flow.


•   Able to monitor and evaluate many processes while ensuring all tasks are completed.

•   Able to communicate through verbal and written forms.


•   Able to confidently make decisions, especially quick last-minute changes.


•   Knowledge of all safety protocols and ability to read, write and communicate in various forms to reach the receiving audience.


•   Workable knowledge of reports, software and tools, as applicable.


•   Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and office technology.


•   Strong character including but not limited to; problem solving, integrity, sound decision making, reasonable, levelheaded, respect for self and others, and desire for growth.


• High level of customer service translatable through written form is a requirement for success.

Work environment

The work environment is fast paced, sometimes loud and includes some extreme temperature fluctuations.

Physical demands

Ability to communicate through audible and written communications.

Ability to stand, sit, bend, kneel and climb frequently.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 50 pounds with assistance.

English as a primary language is required.

Required education and experience

• Valid insurable driver’s license


• Proficiency with Microsoft office and Warehouse/production software

Preferred education and experience

• College degree or equivalent


• Experience in similar workplace environment and role, or proven training for this position
